A Message from the CEO
Dear Friends and Family of the Morizzo Foundation,
As you may know, in 2023, my husband, Pete Morris, was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of brain cancer – glioblastoma.
Despite that, we consider ourselves to be exceptionally fortunate. Pete’s incredible determination (stubbornness) and unwavering positive state of mind has been invaluable. Moreover, we are blessed with access to world-class healthcare, supported by a team of leading specialists in neurology, oncology, and surgery.
Most importantly, however, is we can afford the costly treatments.
Our good fortune stands sharply against the reality many people face. No one – no husband, wife, child, or family should feel alone in this fight, especially if hindered by financial constraints that very well may influence healthcare decisions.
From the very beginning of our journey, it was abundantly clear that the decades of research and incredible advancements in the understanding and treatment of cancer has not extended to glioblastoma. This cancer has been incredibly overlooked, and research woefully underfunded. Glioblastoma has no cure, and no reliable form of treatment or path to long-term remission.
That is why we’ve created The Morizzo Foundation. Our mission is simple but urgent; to raise awareness, to fund crucial research efforts, and to provide vital support to patients and their families, ensuring equitable access to life-saving treatments.
